How to distinguish silicone from synthetic rubber

- Mar 21, 2018 -

Silicone products are a kind of silicone rubber products and belong to one-component room temperature vulcanized liquid rubber products. Once exposed to the air, the silane monomers therein condense, forming a network structure, the system crosslinks, can not be melted and dissolved, has elasticity, becomes a rubber product state, and adheres to objects at the same time.

Its thermal conductivity is slightly higher than that of general rubber products. Once cured, it is difficult to separate bonded objects. Rubber products are highly elastic polymer compounds. Includes uncured and already vulcanized varieties. Can be divided into two major categories of natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Natural rubber products are processed from rubber latex obtained from plants.

Synthetic rubber products are obtained by polymerizing or polycondensing monomers. Unvulcanized rubber products are commonly called raw rubber products or raw rubber. Vulcanized rubber products are called vulcanized rubber products, commonly known as cooked rubber products or rubber. Widely used in the manufacture of tires, hoses, tapes, insulation materials, rubber shoes, silicone tube in medical applications. Silicone products swimming caps are mainly made of high-grade silica gel products. The silicone tube has a soft hand feeling, high elongation force and is very durable.
